Eduardo Beruff, CEO and President of eviti, Inc. and entrepreneur in health care coordination technology, has accepted an invitation to take part in a panel on coordinated care at the World Congress Leadership Summit on Clinical Integration and Care Coordination. The summit is scheduled for May 17th-18th, 2012, in Alexandria, VA, and will focus on innovative payment and primary care delivery models.

Mr. Beruff, who will be part of the panel titled “Follow the Money,” is the founding CEO of eviti, whose decision support tool is revolutionizing reimbursement mechanisms in oncology care. Dr. Grund has broad experience in both academic and community oncology practice. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and the specialties of Oncology, Hematology, and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. Dr. Grund received a Ph.D. in genetics from Iowa State University and his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School. After completing specialty training in hematology and oncology at the New England Medical Center in Boston, he joined the faculty of Albany Medical College and the staff of Albany Medical Center. He held numerous leadership positions including Director of the Thoracic Oncology and AIDS Programs and Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship training program. Dr. Grund also served as a Consultant and Medical Director with Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and led implementation of clinical guidelines to improve adherence to accepted standards of care in oncology and hematology. In 2004, Dr. Grund became Director of the George Bray Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology/Oncology at The Hospital of Central Connecticut (formerly New Britain General Hospital). There he implemented numerous quality programs including the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s quality oncology performance initiative (QOPI), established a comprehensive breast diagnostic and multidisciplinary program, and established a comprehensive palliative care program. Most recently, Dr. Grund was director of research within a private practice associated with the Eastern Connecticut Health Network of hospitals, and he was President of the Connecticut Oncology Association.
